In an authentic Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad said: A person is probably going to follow the religion of his friend, thus look whom you befriend.
According to Hadith Qudsi, Allah says, people who love each other for My glory can have minbars of sunshine, and therefore the Prophet and martyrs can like that they had an equivalent.
Allah the Exalted says in The Holy Quran: “And (remember) the Day once the wrong-doer can bite his hands and say, Would that I had taken a path with the traveler. Woe to me! If solely I had not taken so- and-so as a friend! He has led me full from this Reminder (the Qur’an) once it had come back to me. Satan is ever a deserter to man within the hour of need.” (Quran 25:27-29)
The Bible, the first text of the culture, reflects upon friendship because the bond that forms the inspiration of human religion, trust, and friendship.
In the famous Hindu epic ‘Mahabharata,' Lord avatar demonstrates the numerous colors of friendship - tenderness, romance, brotherhood, protection, guidance, intimacy and even teasing. Friendship is all concerning these and much more.
